CBA’s general manager leaving after 48 years

Huseyin (Huss) Mustafa is retiring from Commonwealth Bank (CBA) after 48 years. Mustafa started at the bank at age 16, being in a general manager role for the past 17 years.

Zurich appoints country CEO, loses general insurance CEO

Justin Delaney is the new country chief executive for Zurich’s life, investments and general insurance businesses in Australia and New Zealand. Zurich’s general insurance CEO Tim Plant is leaving the company, hence the consolidation of roles. Sean Walker, current chief underwriting officer, is to support Delaney in managing the general insurance business.

AIA Australia welcomes incoming chair

Peter Yates is the new chair of AIA Australia, while Theresa Gattung will continue to lead AIA New Zealand as chair. Yates has served on the AIA Australia board for over a decade and has been deputy chair since 2016. The placement means Gattung can focus on the New Zealand business.

AFA appoints new CEO

The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has appointed Helen Morgan-Banda as its new CEO. Morgan-Banda moves into the role from the Law Society of New Zealand.

FPA CEO leaving

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) CEO Dante De Gori is leaving the association after almost six years, leaving at the end of 2021. De Gori has been CEO since March 2016. A replacement is being sought.
