AMP Capital welcomes interim operations head
Adrian Williams has been appointed as operational head of AMP Capital on an interim basis, as current chief financial officer and chief operations officer John Patrick (JP) Moorhead moves into the chief financial officer role at AMP Limited.

Williams is the AMP Capital ESG director of real estate and listed equities. Williams will also be in the chief financial officer role as the search for a permanent replacement continues.

AustralianSuper appoints director
Don Russell is now an independent AustralianSuper board member. Russell is a former Paul Keating adviser, and ambassador to the United States, while also being instrumental in establishing the Superannuation Guarantee.

Macquarie Capital appoints group co-leads, loses group head
After Tim Bishop leaves Macquarie Capital as group head after seven years, Daniel Wong and Michael Silverton will both be co-heads in the role.

Both Wong and Silverton have been with Macquarie Capital for decades, with Wong the current head of the infrastructure and energy group in the United Kingdom and Silverton head of the Americas, Europe and Asia group in the United States. Bishop will move into the chair role of Macquarie Capital during the transition.

Suncorp Super appoints interim chair
Jan Swinhoe is the interim chair of Suncorp Portfolio Services, Suncorp’s superannuation business, taking over from James (Jim) Evans, who retired from the board. Swinhoe is also chair of Mercer Superannuation. A replacement is being sought.

Departures

Janus Henderson loses entire emerging markets team
Global fund manager Janus Henderson’s emerging markets team is in the process of being disbanded as the head has left, with others to follow. Glen Finegan left Janus Henderson on April 18, setting up his own boutique shortly.

Finegan will then be joined by the other four team members in October or November 2019. Some reports have Finegan leaving over a pay dispute.
