Report: Advisers stressed at claim time

A new survey by TAL has revealed advisers are stressed when working with their clients on life insurance claims, with six out of 10 advisers reporting stress. The report, The Value of Financial Advisers at Claim Time, looks at the role of advisers during the claims process and in supporting clients during a very stressful time.

The report highlights the joint role of the insurance company, adviser and client in the claims experience.

Key findings include:

  • Sixty per cent of advisers felt stressed when working on a life insurance claim with a client

  • Over 40 per cent don’t always know what to say to bereaved clients

  • Over 76 per cent agree that helping clients through claims is a key element of their offering
