Equity Trustees farewells director

Anne O’Donnell is retiring from the Equity Trustees board after 12 years. O’Donnell is an industry veteran, with over 35 distinguished years in the finance industry behind her.

Russell loses CEO, gains investment chief

Michelle Seitz is stepping down as chief executive at Russell Investment Management after five years, with a replacement being sought. Seitz, who is also chair of the board, will remain on the leadership team until a new chief is found. Kate El-Hillow has been appointed as co-president, with her current role added to her duties as investment chief.

Submissions open for ifa Women in Finance Awards and Excellence Awards

IFA has announced the sixth annual Women in Finance Award 2022 nominations are open. The awards will be presented on 3 November in Sydney, to celebrate women across 28 categories. Nominations close on 8 September 2022, with finalists announced and tickets on sale from 7 October 2022. Submit an entry or nominate a colleague by 8 September 2022

The ifa Excellence Awards 2022 nominations are also open, now for the 9th year celebrating excellence in the independent financial advice sector. There are 28 categories. Submissions close on 2 September 2022, with the finalists announced and tickets on sale from 27 September 2022. The awards ceremony will be held on 9 November in Sydney. Submit an entry or nominate a colleague.

Challenger welcomes new chair

Duncan West has been appointed as chair at Challenger, taking over from Peter Polson who is retiring in October 2022. West has been on the board since 2018.

ASFA appoints new board member

Vicki Doyle has been appointed as a director a the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA), representing the industry fund and sector after Leeanne Turner left in June. Doyle is the CEO of Rest industry superannuation.

AIC appoints new CEO

The Australian Investment Council (AIC) has appointed Navleen Prasad as its chief executive, taking over from Yasser El-Ansary who moved into a role at FINSIA. Prasad moves into the role from Macquarie Group where she has been for almost two decades.
