Aberdeen loses head of product development and management

Lee Cavanagh has left Aberdeen Standard Investments after almost 14 years. Her most recent role was as head of product development and management across Australia. Cavanagh will be replaced by a product manager, though we’re not sure where she’s off to next, yet.

Tribeca draws CEO out of retirement

Adam Lavis is the new chief executive at Tribeca Investment Partners. Lavis made a weak attempt at retiring, being drawn back into a role in Sydney taking care of Tribeca’s management and strategic direction, to allow founder Davie Aylward to focus on other activities in the role as executive chairman. Lavis was previously the head of equities at Citibank in Australia and New Zealand.

Schroders farewells head of distribution

Graeme Mather, head of product and distribution at Schroders for five years, has moved on. A replacement is not being sought for the role, with Ray Macken remaining in the head of sales role.

HESTA welcomes responsible investment specialist

Kim Farrant is the new general manager of responsible investment at HESTA, moving into the role from Hostplus.

BT Super chair retiring

David Plumb is retiring from the chair of BT Super Trustees after over 10 years. Plumb remains on several other boards, including Westpac, BlackRock and icare NSW.

OxCap boutique fund launching, leaders in place

Fidante Partners has partnered with Joseph Lai, a former Platinum Asia Fund portfolio manager, to lead the new boutique fund, Ox Capital Management. Lai is the principal and lead portfolio manager for the fund. Lai is joined by former Platinum workmates Douglas Huey and Alan Zhang, who will both hold similar roles, with Sid Mehta an analyst.

Hostplus appoints new director

David Attenborough, Tabcorp CEO, is the newest board member at Hostplus, one of several after some departures. He is joined by former Federal Minister Craig Laundy and legal partner Janet Whiting. Departures include independent director Peter Collins, employer directors Mark Robertson and Mark Vaile, and alternative employer director Neil Randall.
