Janus Henderson welcomes new heads and internal promotions

Tom Kelly has been promoted to head of institutional business for Australia, moving up from a role as institutional sales director. Jaxon Rudduck has been promoted to head of consultant relations for Australia, moving from a role at Man Group as client services manager and product development manager. Fawzul Ahmed has been promoted to senior client account manager.

Rest appoints GM of super

Mel Jose is the new general manager of superannuation and retirement solutions at Rest, moving from NGS Super as a senior manager of investment governance. Jose was with NGS Super for just five months but worked at AMP for six years in a variety of roles. Jose has over two decades’ experience in the superannuation industry, including in product management and strategy.

LGIAsuper and Energy Super announce CEO for the joint fund

After agreeing to a merger, LGIAsuper and Energy Super boards have decided on their new chief executive: Kate Farrar. Farrar will take over as Energy Super CEO Robyn Petrou will resign.

First Super appoints member director and first associate director

Anthony Pavy is the new board of First Super as a member representative director. Pavey works at Australian Paper and is the on-site secretary of the Maryvale sub-branch of the Construction Forestry Maritime Mining and Energy Union (CFMMEU).

Casey Thompson is the first associate director at the fund. Thompson is a compliance officer from CFMMEU who will observe the board and committees.

Challenger welcomes new CFO

Rachel Grimes is the new chief financial officer at Challenger, moving across from Westpac. Grimes replaces Andrew Tobin who has resigned.

Ethical Partners Funds Management appoints sustainability analyst

Georgina Murray has been appointed as a sustainability analyst at Ethical Partners, moving into the role from UNICEF Australia in marketing roles.

VFMC appoints senior equities analyst

Thushani de Silva is the newest equities analyst to join Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC). de Silva moves into the role from Frontier Advisors in a similar position.

MLC AM welcomes portfolio manager

Anthony Golowenko is the new portfolio manager of the multi-asset capital partners research team. Golowenko is suing his previous employer, Clime, for unfair dismissal, saying the challenges of the past year have been extraordinary.

LGS appoints deputy chair

Karen McKeown, the mayor of Penrith, is the latest deputy chair of Local Government Super (LGS) after Bruce Miller resigned. McKeown was appointed to the board in 2011 and is part of the governance, remuneration and nomination committee, and the investment committee.

Lonsec CEO departs

After three years at the helm, Charlie Haynes is leaving Lonsec to pursue other interests. Mark Spiers has been appointed as chair, coming out of retirement.
