WTW announces leadership appointments

Willis Towers Watson has appointed Nick Barrett as the new head of investment strategy, while Andrew Povah is the new head of core advisory. Barrett joined WTW in 2004, while Povah has been with the firm since 2008.

IOOF restructures leadership team

Three general managers have been promoted:

  • Mark Oliver, current GM of distribution - now chief distribution officer

  • Darren Whereat, current GM of advice - now chief advice officer

  • Frank Lombardo, currently in the executive leadership team - now chief operating officer

Challenger appoints co-general managers

Two co-chiefs from Generation Life have been appointed into a joint general manager role at Challenger. Lucy Foster and Catherine van der Veen are now the co-managers of advice transformation.

FTSE Russell announces head of sustainable investment, Asia Pacific

Helena Fund has been appointed into the newly-created role of head of sustainable investment for the Asia Pacific region at FTSE Russell, a global index. Fung is an ESG and sustainable investment expert.

First State Super appoints chief risk officer

Jane Couchman is the new chief risk officer at First State Super, moving to the super fund from Commonwealth Bank. Couchman replaces Suzette Thurman who left the fund in 2019.

Departures

Tribeca portfolio manager resigns

Craig Evans has resigned as the co-manager of Tribeca’s global natural resources strategy after four years to move into another role elsewhere. Ben Cleary is now in control of the portfolio.

LGIAsuper loses long-serving executive

Guy Rundle has resigned from LGIAsuper after a long stint at the super fund, from 2008. Rundle’s most recent role at the fund was as head of investments, of which there is no current replacement.
