ASX welcomes new director

Robert Woods, a former Challenger executive, has joined the ASX board as a non-executive director. Woods will stand for election later this year. Woods has served on the subsidiary clearing and settlement boards as a director, being chair of ASX Clear and ASX Settlement.

Acadian AM appoints vice president of product and wholesale

Mark Mukundan has been appointed to a newly-created role at Acadian Asset Management as vice president of product and wholesale. Mukundan moves across from Colonial First State where he was an executive manager.

Rest appoints general manager of technology

Simon Smith is the new GM of technology at Rest superannuation. Smith was most recently the chief technology officer at Vocus Group.

First State Super and VicSuper name CEO

After a confirmed merger, First State Super’s Deanne Stewart will be the chief executive of the merged entity, with Michael Dundon, VicSuper’s CEO, becoming deputy CEO. Neil Cochrane, chair of First State Super, is to be the independent chair of the board, with Wayne Kayler-Thomson continuing as VicSuper’s chair until the end of the financial year. The board will have 14 directors initially, then reduce to 10 within two years.

QSuper announces new chair

Don Luke is taking over at QSuper as chair, with Karl Morris stepping down after two terms. Luke was most recently QIC’s non-executive chair for five years.

MetLife appoints head of retail sales

Meray El-Khoury is the new head of retail sales at MetLife after Matt Lippiatt moved into the newly-created role of adviser experience. El-Khoury moves into the role from Sunsuper.
