During 2024 New Zealand Retail Managed Funds Increase NZ$36.6bn
/New Zealand Retail Managed Funds rose 5.2% in the December quarter while over the whole of 2024 they jumped 20.6% to total NZ$214.4bn. More than half this growth was thanks to increases in the market values for their investments but so far 2025 has seen most of this undone due to fears of a global trade war and recession. Companies reporting some of the biggest jumps in their funds under management included market leader ASB (18.5%), Milford (31.1%), FirstCape (23.1%) and Simplicity (32.0%); indeed all the leading players finished higher.
Year on year Gross Inflows in 2024 were 30.0% higher to total NZ$47.7bn despite declining 4.5% in the December quarter. Market leader ASB (44.6%) along with Milford (66.1%) and Simplicity (52.7%) reported some significant percentage jumps in their annual Inflows but those of ANZ (-15.6%) were lower.
