Sydney Airport says no thanks to consortium’s offer

The consortium (Sydney Aviation Alliance) that made an offer to Sydney airport has been rejected. The Consortium has made a statement saying they are ‘surprised and disappointed’ by the decision.

Macquarie to buy AMP Capital’s GEFI

Macquarie Group has announced that Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) has entered a binding agreement to purchase AMP Capital’s Global Equity and Fixed Income (GEFI) business, including fixed income, Australian listed equities, listed real estate and listed infrastructure. The deal is worth a consideration of up to $185 million. The GEFI business manages around $60 billion in assets and has institutional, retail and direct clients.

Louise Walsh launches new capital raising business

The former chief executive of Future Generation has launched a new capital raising organisation, Walsh Capital, targeting boutique investment managers. The business already has a few clients, however, in future, it will deal with family offices and high-net-worth individuals. Walsh will be CEO of the new company.
