ClearView welcomes head of insurance

Nick Kulikov is ClearView Wealth’s new head of life insurance product and pricing, responsible for the group’s new life insurance solution due to be launched later in 2021. Kulikov moves into the role from Reinsurance Group of America (RGA) as the chief risk officer for Australia.

Mercer welcomes chief strategy officer, board member, CFO

Saranne Broderick is Mercer’s first chief strategy officer, taking care of business analytics, insights and strategic planning. Broderick moves from Deloitte to Mercer. Alice Williams is new to the board of Mercer Investments Australia, along with Susan Gosling and Jim Minto, who joins the Mercer Superannuation board while also leaving the Equity Trustees board. Emily O’Brien is the new chief financial officer, taking over from David McKeown. O’Brien moves into the role from Australian Unity.

AMP CEO switch

AMP Limited has appointed Alexis George as the new group chief executive, replacing Francesco De Ferrari, who is leaving after three years. George has been with ANZ since 2013 as group executive for wealth and deputy CEO.

HESTA appoints director

Daniel Sims is retiring, being replaced by Alan Morrison. Morrison will also sit on the audit and risk committees. Morrison represents the Australian Private Hospitals Association where is he a director and treasurer.

Equity Trustees welcomes former minister

The former minister for revenue and financial services, Kelly O’Dwyer, is joining the Equity Trustees board as a non-executive director alongside the risk committee. Jim Minto is stepping down after four years.

Departures

ISA farewells chief economist

Stephen Anthony is leaving Industry Super Australia (ISA) after six years with the lobby group, to rejoin Macroeconomics in a similar role. Anthony founded Macroeconomics in 2007.

Aware Super redundancies

Aware Super is restructuring its financial advice team with redundancies to come. The fund said it has observed a trend away from ongoing advice contracts and to on-demand advice, removing the need for so many advisers. Just how many roles will go is yet to be announced.

Pengana departures

Steven Glass and Jordan Cvetanovski, portfolio managers for Pengana International Equities, have both resigned. James McDonald will serve as interim chief investment officer to replace Cventanovski. McDonald has been a portfolio manager with Pengana Capital for almost four years.

K2 Asset Management loses co-founder, gains board member

Mark Newman has resigned from the K2 Asset Management board. Newman co-founded the funds’ management business with Campbell Neal in 1999. Neal remains the managing director. George Boubouras, head of research, has been named as a non-executive director.
