Legalsuper welcomes member experience executive

Carrie Norman is the new executive manager of member experience at Legalsuper, moving across from Cbus. Patsy Mullen-Conolly left the role after four years.

Australian Unity appoints GM of investment and origination

James Goodwin is the new general manager of investment and origination at Australian Unity. Goodwin is a property professional, moving from Ocean St Capital Advisers as an executive director.

HESTA welcomes head of portfolio management

Alan Sheen is the latest addition to the HESTA family, now head of portfolio management and part of the senior investment leadership team. Sheen moves from Dalton Street Capital as chief investment officer and managing partner.

U Ethical welcomes ESG specialist, portfolio manager

Désirée Lucchese is U Ethical’s new ethics and impact manager, moving to the responsible investor from MSCI as an ESG consultant. Lucchese has an impressive background in ethical investing, sitting on the UK Climate Disclosure Standards Boarde and Environmental Investment Organisation (EIO).

Rachel O’Connor is a new portfolio manager for fixed interest and cash products. O’Connor moves from Vanguard Australia as a senior portfolio manager for the past four years.

MTAA and Tasplan post-merger CIO announced

With the merger planned for 2021, MTAA Super and Tasplan have announced Dr Ross Barry is their joint chief investment officer. Barry is an institutional investment specialist, most recently holding a senior role at First State Super. MTAA’s current executive manager for investments, Phil Brown, will leave the fund in October.

Departures

Sunsuper reorganising, loses head of fixed income and currency

Sunsuper is undergoing a restructure of several business units, and with it some staff have been moved around. The public markets division is being reorganised so it will perform the role of the former listed shares and fixed income, currency and cash (FICC) teams. This team will be led by Greg Barnes. Barnes has been the listed shares manager for six years.

Sue Berman, the head of fixed income and currency since 2007, is leaving after 13 years.

BUSSQ CEO retiring

Linda Vickers is retiring from the chief executive role at BUSSQ after two decades with the fund. Vickers has been in the head role since 2016 after a restructure put then CEO David O’Sullivan into the chief investment officer role. Current chief operating officer Damian Wills will take over as CEO on 1 January 2021.
