New Appointments

Yarra Capital Management appoints distribution manager

Challenger has lost Rommel Hacopian as the general manager of national accounts, research and platforms, to Yarra Capital Management where he will be the distribution manager. Hacopian has been with Challenger for nearly 20 years.

Maple-Brown Abbott welcomes and farewells executives

Duncan Hodnett is the new head of global distribution at Maple-Brown Abbott, leaving a role at Pinnacle as distribution director.

Christine Cameron is leaving her role as head of institutional and strategic relationships, after seven years at the company. Cameron remains on the asset allocation committee as an independent member and is planning to take on additional board and committee seats.

EY welcomes wealth and asset head

Rita Da Silva is the new Oceania wealth and asset management leader at Ernst & Young, replacing Antoinette Elias. Elias is shifting within EY to Oceania financial services.

Hostplus appoints co-deputy chief investment officer

Andrew Howard is the new co-deputy CIO at Hostplus, moving from a CIO role at VicSuper. Howard will be working with current deputy CIO, Greg Clark.

Departures

Media Super loses CEO

Graeme Russell is leaving Media Super after seven years, set to transition out of the fund over several months. Russell will stay on as a strategic adviser until 1 July 2020, with his role filled by Tony Griffin, the current chief operating officer.

Managed Account Awards 2020 entries open

The IMAP Managed Accounts Awards are open for entries to recognise and reward best practice in the development of managed account programs. Entries close 26 June 2020. There are seven categories for the awards.
