New Appointments

UniSuper welcomes COO

Kevin Roadnight is UniSuper’s chief operating officer, a newly created role in its finance, legal and governance functions after a review earlier this year. Roadnight moves from a chief financial officer role at Vision Australia, starting his new role at UniSuper in mid-November.

APRA restructure and new appointments

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has undergone a restructure and as a result, there are a number of new faces in the C-suite. APRA is moving to an industry-based supervision model with separate supervision being applied to superannuation, insurance and banking. Changes to the executive line-up and organisational changes will apply from 1 December 2019.

Each of APRA’s six operating divisions is being led by an executive director, as follows:

  • Sean Carmody - executive director cross-Industry insights and data

  • Brandon Khoo - executive director of insurance

  • Therese McCarthy Hockey - executive director of banking

  • Suzanne Smith - executive director superannuation

  • Steve Matthews - executive director chief operating officer and executive director of enterprise services

  • Heidi Richards - acting executive director of policy and advice pending a permanent placement

First State Super new appointments announced

Sarah Forman and Peter Chun are the latest appointments to the executive team at First State Super. Forman, who moves across from BT Financial Group, is the new group executive of advice, replacing Graeme Arnott. Chun, from Colonial First State, is the new group executive of member growth as of January, replacing Suzanne Holden.

Departures

Fidelity loses wholesale director

Andrew Mathie has left Fidelity International after two years, and a replacement is being sought.

Legalsuper loses CIO

Edward Smith has left legalsuper in the chief investment officer role, with a replacement being sought. Smith was with the super fund for over four years.
