EQT appoints new MD
Equity Trustees has appointed Michael O'Brien as its new managing director. O'Brien has been with Equity Trustees since July 2014 as a non-executive director. 

SMSF Association adds head of technical
Peter Hogan has been appointed to the role of head of technical at the SMSF Association. He is currently at MLC as the national manager of SMSF advice. 

Mercer restructure
After the resignation of Graeme Mather after 18 years to head over to Schroders Australia, three business divisions will now be reporting to Simon Eagleton. Eagleton, head of investment management, is to take over the head roles of the consulting investment and retirement businesses. 

Cbus appoints senior equities research analyst, more hires
Cbus has appointed Ramanan Sooriyakumar to the newly-created role of senior equities research analyst as part of a greater, three-year review strategy. More additions are planned, with eight new hires to start, 30 more in the pipeline, and a whole new floor being opened in Sydney. 

Bennelong appoints non-executive director
Bennelong Funds Management has appointed Andrea Waters as its newest non-executive director. Waters currently sits on a handful of other boards including the Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand, Citywide, CareSuper, and the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation. 

AMP appoints new chair, other new appointments to come
AMP has appointed Catherine Brenner as its chair, after sitting on the board since 2010. Brenner is a director at Boral and Coco-Cola Amatil. She replaces John Palmer, who is retiring.

HFA CFO quits after a month
Chief financial officer of HFA, a hedge fund portfolio management company, has resigned after just a month due to personal circumstances. The former chief financial officer and company secretary Amber Stoney will take over the job while a replacement is found. 

VicSuper loses its CIO
Oscar Fabian is retiring from his role as chief investment officer at VicSuper after six years, heading into a non-executive director role as it is offered to him. A replacement is being sought.
