New Appointments

HESTA appoints chief advice officer, chief risk officer

Josh Parisotto is the new chief advice officer at industry superannuation fund HESTA. Parisotto moves across from VicSuper where he was the executive manager of distribution. Andrew Major is the new chief risk and compliance officer at the super fund. Major was promoted from his role as the general manager of unlisted assets.

GROW Super appoints deputy CEO

Superannuation start-up, GROW Super, has promoted the current head of strategy, Adam Gee, to the deputy chief executive role. The company is moving towards becoming a superannuation administration provider, with a sale of superannuation assets expected after a December 2019 announcement.

First Super appoints co-chair

Mike Radda is the new co-chair of First Super, replacing Lisa Marty. Radda is a long-term employer-nominated trustee of First Super. Marty stepped down after seven years as a trustee and three years as co-chair.

Acadian AM appoints vice president of product and wholesale markets

Mark Mukundan is the appointee in a newly-created position at Acadian Asset Management: vice president of product and wholesale markets. Mukundan moves from Colonial First State from a role as executive manager of deposits and investment products.

ASX appoints new directors

Robert Woods is now a director of the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). Woods was most recently the chief executive of strategy at Challenger and chief executive of Challenger’s funds management and asset management business. Woods was also the chair of ASX subsidiary clearing and settlement boards, to be replaced by Stephen Knight. Knight is a member of ASX Clear and Settlement since 2019, the former CEO of NSW Treasury Corporation.

Carolyn Colley is joining the ASX Clear and Settlement board. Colley is the co-founder and chief operating officer of software platform, Faethm and a director at OnePath Custodians, Oasis Fund Management and Smartgroup Corporation.

Sunsuper appoints directors

Cate Wood is the latest board member of Sunsuper. Wood has over two decades’ experience in leading non-profit superannuation organisations, with roles including chair of CareSuper and chief executive of AGEST Super. Mark Goodey is another new addition to the board. Goodey is the current chief financial officer for the Australian Workers Union in Queensland and the finance and compliance officer at the Australian Services Union.

Departures

MyState CEO resigning in July

Melos Sulicich is set to resign from his role as chief executive of the superannuation fund as of July 2020. Sulicich has been CEO since 2014.

Aurora FM CFO resigns

Adrian Tilley, the chief financial officer at Aurora Funds Management, is leaving the company to work in his family business in Victoria. Mark Briglia will replace him. Briglia moves from Australian Energy Market Operator as chief financial officer and group manager.
