MetLife welcomes new head of distribution, appoints customer/marketing officer
Michael Mulholland is the new head of distribution at MetLife, moving from Sunsuper after a restructure. Mulholland replaces Chesne Stafford, who is moving into the newly-created role of chief customer and marketing officer. A new roadmap at MetLife was announced by chief executive Richard Nunn.

Underwriter Natalie Georgoulas (nee Raffaut) passes away
Well-known Sydney underwriter Natalie Georgoulas has died after a car accident, age 42. Georgoulas spent two decades in the insurance industry, working as health and accident underwriter for GIO, Gerling, and Chubb Insurance Company. She is survived by her husband Harry and their two young daughters.

SA/NT broker awards finalists announced
The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has announced the finalists for Northern Territory and South Australia’s Young Professional of the Year Awards, Jess Dametto (Webber Insurance Services) and Lauren Reeves (Guardian Insurance Group). The award is to support rising stars in the insurance industry under the age of 35.

The (regular) Broker of the Year Award finalists were Max Cuzzocrea (Maxton), Luke Bettany (Butler and Butler), and Kevin Loader (AJG).
