Super and pensions fund head appointed at Goldman Sachs
Rory MacEwan is entering the newly-created role of head of superannuation and pensions funds at Goldman Sachs Australia and New Zealand. MacEwan has been an executive at Goldman Sachs since 2013, and an executive director since 2015.

Link Group welcomes two new executives to new merged team
Link Group has merged its operations, technology, and innovations teams, with one new division, operations, technology and innovation. Paul Gardiner, former joint chief executive of corporate markets, is the new chief operations, technology and innovation officer in the division. Nigel McCammon is the chief operations officer of the Asia-Pacific region of the division. McCammon joins Link Group from Mercer.

Frontier Advisors appoints two and loses two directors
John Edwards, Cbus director, and Deborah Cole, HESTA director, have both joined the Frontier Advisors board. The pair replace long-standing directors David Atkin and Angela Emslie, however Emslie will remain as an independent director.

Vision Super appoints chief risk officer
Nikki Schimmel is Vision Super’s new chief risk officer, joining the superannuation fund from LUCRF Super in a similar role for over seven years.

HESTA appoints new director
Sophie Ismail is the newest board member at HESTA, representing the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU). Ismail, a lawyer and legal and industrial officer at ACTU, replaces Michael Borowick, an eight-year board member.

AMP Capital hires infrastructure equity adviser
Thomas Preising has been appointed into an advisory role at AMP Capital to help streamline its global infrastructure assets. Preising joins from Apple as its global business operations director.

Rest super welcomes two new executives into new units
As part of a restructure, Tyrone O’Neill (joining from Westpac) is the new group executive of member engagement, and Brendan Daly (joining from tech firm WiPro) is the group executive of product and operations. The two newly-created units are member engagement, and product and operations, announced last year.

Departures

Media Super loses deputy chief and GM of operations
Michael Rooney has left Media Super after 16 years, to be replaced by Tony Griffon in April. Griffon has a long history in the superannuation fund industry.

Blue Sky CFO resigns after two months
Elizabeth Walker has resigned from her chief financial officer post at Blue Sky Alternative Investments after just two months for personal reasons. Andrew Werro will replace Walker until a replacement can be found.

REI Super CEO leaving fund
Mal Smith is leaving REI Super as chief executive, after leading the fund for 15 years. Smith is looking for new professional opportunities, and a replacement is being sought.
