MetLife appoints new head of group product
Dean Mulheron is to head MetLife’s group product design and produce development for life insurance, replacing Stephen Sefton who was in the role for six months. Mulheron moves to MetLife from Swiss Re.

Yellow Brick Road welcomes new CEO
Frank Ganis is the new chief executive at YBR, an internal promotion. Ganis joined YBR originally as a board member, then adviser, and prior to that, he was an executive director at Macquarie Group.

NEOS Life announces underwriting and sales team
New entrant into the life insurance space, NEOS Life, has appointed their underwriting and sales teams:

  • Gemma Wheeler - underwriting and operations team head (formerly national new business and underwriting manager at BT Life)

  • Charl du Plooy - head of sales

  • Cara Glanville - senior underwriter (formerly senior underwriter at BT Life)

  • Maria Monaghan - senior underwriter (formerly senior underwriter at BT Life)

AMP Wealth Solutions and customer team appointments

  • John Keating - head of wealth distribution for the southern region

  • Shaune Egan - head of platform development

Commonwealth Bank senior appointments, demerger
CBA announced that Jason Yetton is to be the chief executive officer of the bank and Andrew Morgan will be the chief financial officer of CBA’s wealth management and mortgage broking business, NewCo.

NewCo is in the midst of a demerger, with Colonial First State, Count Financial, Financial Wisdom, Aussie Home Loans, and minority shareholdings in CountPlus and Mortgage Choice. Colonial First State Global Asset Management will be removed from NewCo after a recent announcement for CFSGAM to be sold to Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation. Yetton joins CBA from SocietyOne, while Morgan is currently the CFO of wealth management at CBA.
