ANZIIF adviser lessons now condensed, online

The new education model that the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) has set out ditches the semester periods, instead opting for shorter study periods in four or six week units. There are a variety of learning methods available including audio, video, and interactive tasks.

Passing units is done by successfully completing an interactive real-world scenario with a virtual customer. Once the problem has been solved to the satisfaction of the insurer and insured, the test is passed.

One hundred and forty units are to be released over the next 18 months.

The point of the study is not to re-teach skills already acquired or that people get in traditional forms of study, but to teach real-world skills that were identified as being missing in typical finance education.
