Global investors deposit net US$136 billion into long-term funds

Highlights:

  • During the month of April, investors deposited a net US$136 billion into long-term funds globally.
  • Mixed funds led April contributions with US$58 billion, followed by bond products at US$47 billion, equity at US$16 billion, and 'others' vehicles at US$14 billion.
  • On a regional level, Asia captured the most inflows with US$46 billion, of which US$43 billion was received by new funds in China. Local Europe came in second with US$33 billion in net flows, while the U.S. and cross-border markets added US$26 billion each. Furthermore, Canada garnered US$6 billion in net new money, and Latin America flows were flat for the month.
